NexusConsent is a self-hosted consent management plugin built specifically for Joomla 5 and 6. It prevents optional services from loading before consent, then activates them according to each visitor’s choices.
NexusConsent can control analytics and advertising scripts, embedded content, iframes, stylesheets, inline code, support, consent withdrawal, local consent records, and CSV export.
Everything runs inside Joomla, with no mandatory external CMP account or per-pageview service. NexusConsent is designed for site owners and agencies who want transparent, maintainable consent controls without handing their visitor data and configuration to a remote platform.

- Accept all respects your categories. Accept all now grants only the categories shown in the banner, so sites without Marketing services no longer send advertising consent to Google and Clarity.
- One-time fresh choice. Returning visitors are asked to choose once more, so every saved choice matches what they were actually shown.
- Clearer category guidance. The Patterns help explains when to increase Config version so visitors are asked about a newly added category.
- Review request. A short, one-time request to review NexusConsent on the Joomla Extensions Directory appears on the settings page after two weeks and can be dismissed for good.

Does it actually block scripts before consent, or just hide a banner?
It performs genuine server-side blocking: scripts, styles, and iframes stay blocked until opt-in, and it preserves CSP nonces and integrity attributes even under a strict Content Security Policy.
Does it support Google Consent Mode v2?
Yes, defaults are denied, choices push instant updates, it is GTM-compatible, and the revoke path explicitly denies all four Consent Mode keys before reload.
Does it make my Joomla site GDPR compliant?
It is a technical tool that assists with cookie and consent management, not a legal service. Correct configuration and legal sign-off remain the site owner's responsibility.
Does it include a cookie or site scanner?
Yes, a Super-Admin, server-side scanner detects external scripts, styles, and iframes on your pages and suggests a category when a known service matches.
Is it free, and which Joomla versions?
Yes, it is free and supports Joomla 5 and 6.
Which languages does NexusConsent support?
NexusConsent includes English, German, French and Dutch language files by default. It uses Joomla's standard language system, so all interface and consent text can be translated or customized using language overrides.
